What is GiftyDuck?
GiftyDuck lets your loved ones know what gifts you’d be thrilled to receive, set reminders for when it’s time to return the love and find out what they’d love to unwrap, without spoiling the surprise.
Do you have an app I can download?
Yes, we do! iPhone & iPad and Android.
There is an occasion missing from my list, how do I add it?
Navigate to the Friends tab, find the friend with the missing occasions, tap/click on their profile and then click “add occasion”.
How do I add gifts to my wish list?
The easiest way is to scroll through the many choices on the gift ideas tab. Or if you have something specific in mind just copy the web address URL, navigate to the Wish List tab, tap/click on the “add gift URL” button and follow the instructions from there.
What kind of gifts should I choose?
We suggest you choose a range of gift ideas with many different price points. The more options you have in your wish list, the more chance you will find something that someone would like to gift you. We also recommend at least one gourmet basket and one bunch of flowers.
I have seen a great gift idea that I want to get for someone. How do I go about getting it?
Just click on the gift idea and you will be taken straight to the retailer so you can organise everything there. No need to add it to your wish list, unless you want to receive the gift yourself of course.
I am buying a gift for someone, whose address should I use?
This is up to you. If you would like to send the gift directly to your friend, then use their address. Should you want to give the gift in person then use your own address.
Will I be notified if someone buys something for me from my wish list?
No, that would ruin the surprise!
What if I get bored of waiting for a gift from my wish list and decide I want to buy it myself. But someone has already bought the gift for me without me knowing?
Prior to buying the gift yourself, try removing the gift from your wish list. We will tell you if someone has reserved the gift for you. But keep in mind, this will probably ruin the surprise, so only do this if you absolutely have to.
Can two people reserve the same item?
No, because we immediately hide the item from the view of others once it has been reserved.
Where will the gift come from?
The retailer that the gift was purchased from. GiftyDuck doesn’t get involved with the fulfilment of the gifts.
Can I track my gift purchases through GiftyDuck?
Not at this point, unfortunately. But it is a great idea and something we will think about for a future release.
Can I add my upcoming occasions to my calendar?
Yes, you can! Just navigate to the settings menu in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Scroll to the bottom to find the iCal URL. Make sure you tick “enable my calendar feed” and click/tap save prior to using your iCal URL.
